Two years ago, my son (who was 9 at the time) asked me a question that I found difficult to answer: “What do you do for your job anyway?” (Good question!). Well, I’d been in the communications business for a number of years and been privy to the latest computer technology for quite some time now. That’s been out of necessity, as marketing agencies and design firms ship most of their “widgets” as electronic attachments. These digital packets contain all the information necessary to create ads, posters, TV spots, etc. After 22 years in the ad business, lately serving mostly non-profits and public health agencies, I was able to leverage my experience into a position contributing to the Independent Living movement. Score!
